[00:01:44] Yet so we're playing a different version of 5e. This is Sandy Petersen's Cthulhu mythos and

[00:01:50] his campaign with the big sleep which is

[00:01:53] Campaign four I think he put out five of these and then so we're starting on number four

[00:01:59] It's the fourth campaign he released. So initially this was put out for pathfinder

[00:02:05] Virgin 1.0 and

[00:02:07] So they originally came out in smaller books

[00:02:09] It's like four books per campaign the way pathfinder would be built

[00:02:12] He did the same thing for 5e when he released with 5e and then like the one final

[00:02:17] Campaign he put out I think was in like one book altogether

[00:02:20] So this is the fourth one of the five or six that he released

[00:02:24] But it's booked for called act one. No, it's saga for it's the fourth saga

[00:02:30] Campaign if you will that he put out this like some new hope bullshit cuz I don't like I

[00:02:35] Want to play Phantom Menace?

[00:02:38] One of the grains I would want to fish around with these any Peterson's so I have no clue

[00:02:44] visitors in the Empire of Denton

[00:02:46] Denton is I'm just gonna read this from the book because explains the Empire Denton is a large multicultural Empire that consists of three

[00:02:55] semi-independent sub kingdoms

[00:02:56] Axe fame Lorenz and yeti

[00:02:59] Exfane is a wild land of vast forests and rugged mineral rich hills

[00:03:03] Lorenz is an isolated mountain kingdom of snow-capped peaks and verdant valleys

[00:03:08] Yeti you the largest kingdom

[00:03:11] Consists of endless tracks of rolling pasture land dotted with farming villages. The Empire of Denton itself is

[00:03:18] Geographically isolated hemmed in by mountain ranges arid steps feted swamps and salty sea to the south lie

[00:03:25] the giant haunted peaks of the

[00:03:27] Walton Mountains to the north the rugged

[00:03:31] Horton Shane Mountains rise to snow-capped peaks

[00:03:35] The twisting treacherous

[00:03:37] iglofen mountains separate exfane and yeti from the blazing step a vast tract of rugged grassland home to wild horses and howling

[00:03:45] monsters

[00:03:46] In the southern gap between the Walton and the iglofen ranges the Holbro river flows into a kingdom-sized

[00:03:54] Dismal swamp known as the Fins of Fenri these geographical obstacles serve as Denton's walls and as a result

[00:04:01] The Empire is largely free of foreign entanglement

[00:04:04] The same time this isolation also serves to incubate the Empire's internal conflicts. It's very much an isolated area as

[00:04:12] explained

[00:04:14] It holds a lot of its own deities that you wouldn't find in other empires

[00:04:19] There are a lot of interesting

[00:04:21] As we talked about off Mike there's some interesting factions in this game that are particular to the scenario

[00:04:26] They really only exist in this Empire. We don't get a map

[00:04:30] Uh, I want to give you a map but the map gives away a little bit here and there

[00:06:02] I want to say the crown lands may be part of the exfane kingdom, but it is somewhat separate

[00:06:08] Yes, Sunken Forest looks like a very scary place. It looks like some work would shit

[00:06:13] At some point in time you were probably on a ship and the Basilean Sea

[00:06:19] Probably docked your ship in Marsis went

[00:06:22] Went up the Ashain River, and you guys are in the kingdom of exfane right now

[00:06:27] There's a lot of probabilities in that

[00:06:30] Well, it's kind of the only place you that it shows on the map that you may have come in at

[00:06:34] So it's not the Great Wall of China there. That's that red and white dotted line

[00:06:39] Is that the geographical area of?

[00:06:42] That I believe is basically the border of

[00:06:45] The Empire itself the mountains are basically the walls that separate this empire from everywhere else like you do

[00:06:51] But that's like the different kingdoms. Those are the borders correct those dots, okay?

[00:06:55] Yeah, okay, so those are not roadways that make sense

[00:06:58] No, those are not roadways those are those are the borders of the kingdoms we have no roads on this map

[00:07:02] This is purely like topographical

[00:07:05] Yeah further you get into the game

[00:07:09] But that map gives away some things early on so I'm not gonna give it to you

[00:07:57] Lingering in the air with the awkward smoke of tallow candles behind the busy bar stands three

[00:08:03] Gigantic barrels the size of carriages

[00:08:06] The rounded bases turn toward you one bears the mark of a single black skull another two skulls in the third three

[00:08:14] It's better or worse your path has brought you here to this dark and crowded tavern at midday

[00:08:19] Do we get a name of where we're actually at I know the three skulls have you are in

[00:08:24] the kingdom of exfane in the city of

[00:09:46] Anyway, but the way that I sort of envisioned my character's name is Cyrus

[00:09:53] The virus you could go that far yeah

[00:10:01] The way that I sort of picture him is that

[00:10:06] Ghouls in this game are sort of dogmen werewolves, but they're also

[00:10:12] Undead eternally dead. They eat the flesh of

[00:10:17] recently recently living things sometimes ancient things

[00:10:22] So the way I sort of picture him is is sort of a sort of wolf man, but kind of got Lou Ferrigno vibes

[00:10:28] so like

[00:10:29] Rose Jack to the gills six six he's wearing clothes that probably would have been appropriate like a hundred and fifty years ago

[00:10:37] But it looks like he's been wearing them for a hundred and fifty years. So

[00:10:41] They've held up well to the test of time, but you get the sense that they were probably like blue collar type clothes

[00:10:47] You don't see him change anything

[00:10:50] I get the sense that he does have sort of some some green skin like he's got some half-orc in him

[00:10:56] But obviously some of it is desiccated sort of prolonged snout canine teeth

[00:11:01] Glowing red eyes doesn't say a whole lot, but kind of growls and snarls

[00:11:07] He's carrying a

[00:11:10] number of axes
